Stack. L, Goldstein. J. New York Threatens Orthodox Jewish Areas with Lockdown Over Virus, 2020. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/25/nyregion/coronavirus-orthodox-jewish-communities.html
The Coronavirus pandemic’s prevalence across the United States has sparked political and technological violence against the Judaism religion. The followers of Judaism have been confronted by the day’s politics due to their hardstands about the disease. The Orthodox Jewish followers failed to wear face masks that were a government requirement to protect against the virus. As a result, the sheriff’s office and the police department were asked to enforce this religion’s laws. The group is adamant and was not ready to follow the social distancing rules or wearing of face mask. For instance, in the middle of a pandemic, they were going to observe the Yom Kippur, which is a holy day for the Jewish religion. Such fays’ impacts are tremendous and could spread the disease even more, hence arousing political interests among the authorities.
In the modern world, Abrahamic faiths are crucial driving forces and serve as the most prominent religions. Today, the Jews refer to God as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and not of any other person. Abraham is also termed as the ‘first Jew’ and is seen as the figure behind God’s commandments. Later, the name of Jacob gets changed into Israel, which firmly cements Judaism as a religion. Through Abraham, God affirms his faith, and also through Jesus Christ, the sins of the Christians are forgiven, and every believer is made one with God. Also, the many tribulations that Abraham and his lineage pass through in the Bible become the foundation of Christian faith as people believe that the hardships in life are created to make Christians stronger in faith. Additionally, in the Quran, Abraham is known as God’s friend and is seen as the Islamic faith’s founding father. He represents true adherent to and submission to God, as seen through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
