Nursing Informatics: Concepts and Issues
Since 2013, nursing leaders have been meeting at the University of Minnesota Big Data Science Conference to engage in a national action plan, to ensure nursing data are captured in electronic health records and other information systems, and to ensure that data is available in shareable, comparable formats for clinicians, administrators, researchers, policy makers, and others to improve health outcomes. The “Transforming Nursing Documentation” section (pg. 15) is an overview of one of the key workgroups from the Big Data Science Conference. Each year, the participants review and revise the goals for the year ahead. Choose one of the goals listed in the “Transforming Nursing Documentation” section and give an overview of why you chose this item.
