The early childhood program addressed is kindergarten. Notably, the facility operates as a kindergarten to offer its services to the community. The early years of a child play a critical role in the development of the child. Parents often require a lot of help to educate their children and typically form a strong positive foundation for their future. Most of the time, parents are often busy and lack the appropriate duration to stay with their children and educate them. This is why the kindergarten has been established to help out the parents, and thus, give their children a better life. This program aims to work closely with the parents of these children to understand them better and create a positive environment that supports not only their growth but also their development. The central aim of this program is to lay a concrete foundation for the children within the community. Over the recent past, the education readiness gap has increased due to varying reasons, such as the social-economic status of the parents (Bono, Sy, & Kopp 2016). Many children have joined the institution, but their parents are unable to pay the necessary fees to maintain them within the facility. The program intends to help such parents because they are unable to keep up due to their low-income Early Child Development and Care Paper.

The early childhood program serves a lot of parents and children coming from different ethnic backgrounds. For example, there are Asian Americans, African Americans, and Americans served by the program. This is essential because it helps create a positive environment for the children and make them understand each other from a young age, and thereby, eliminate racism. Furthermore, this helps incorporate the community since the community consists of a significant number of these individuals. These children deserve a chance to make their lives better. According to Bono, Sy, & Kopp (2016), a significant number of children coming from the minority groups enter school with a high readiness-gap as opposed to the Americans. Subsequently, this is because they lack the chance to attend school at an early age, and their parents often have a low-income that cannot sustain them and, at the same time, pay for kindergarten services.

The principle that needs to be addressed the need for funds to sustain the children within the facility. These children aged between 4 and 5 years require professional educators to attend to their needs and educate them. They also require books that can help them develop better language since language development begins at an early age. The neighborhood the kindergarten operates is composed of people from various social-economic status. In contrast, half of the parents are capable of meeting the requirement needs of the facility, the other half struggle, which makes operating the childhood program challenging due to the lack of appropriate finds.

The children have affected the most due to the lack of necessary funds. Notably, the program is currently unable to acquire or hire the necessary professional services since professional early childhood educators require a constant salary and several other benefits the center is unable to satisfy. Therefore, the center has a shortage of around three educators. Serving at least sixty children, the center requires about six professionals. Nevertheless, the program has only three who work with other volunteers and instruct them concerning how to go about their activities with the children. Moreover, the facility lacks enough resources to facilitate all learning activities. For instance, the lack of books makes it difficult to have a positive learning environment since the children cannot share or read current books. Toys to facilitate the playing activities of the children lack, which affects their development. If the program is unable to continue offering its services to the community, the low-income parents will also be walloped by the consequences following since the facility does not have the relevant resources. Denying their children admission to the facility based on funds will increase the readiness-gap within the country, which mostly denies the children a better future as compared to their counterparts.

Obtaining the funds will play a significant role in creating the best environment that supports positive growth and development not only physically but also emotionally and cognitively. The funds will make it possible to increase the staff within the program so that professional educators offer their high-quality services to the children. As earlier identified, the program is composed of children who come from different cultural backgrounds. Some of these children have different linguistic backgrounds such that English is a second language. Therefore, they require a lot of professional assistance that can only be provided by professional educators. Professional educators will develop the best program and curriculum to ensure these children develop the best linguistic development without doing away with their cultural-linguistic. Furthermore, it will aid in the purchasing of necessary items such as books and toys that can be used during play activities to help the children develop motor skills. The positive development of the children is composed of a lot of aspects, including the nutrition aspect. Children require a proper diet since, at this stage, they are very active, which drains them their energy. The funds will help in developing better nutrition for the children. Also, the funds will ease the burden that some parents have and, more specifically, the parents with a low-income. Their children will be catered for and given the best childcare services to help their children gain a better foundation for their future Early Child Development and Care Paper.

Target. (2015).  Grants: FAQs.

Target Foundation issues grants with the objective and goal of integrating equality for all. Their grants are to ensure that the underserved, as well as under-resourced communities, have the necessary resources to help them develop positively. Equality for all ensures that every community receives an equal opportunity to have a better life. Target Foundation also aims at investing in those organizations that are concerned about the community and engage themselves in empowering activities.

For an organization to be eligible for the Target Foundation grant, any organization based in the US and any of its Protectors has to be federally tax-exempted based on section 501 (c)(3) as a charitable organization or an accredited school. For those organizations located in other areas outside the American territories, they should be capable of working alongside or in partnership with a US-based donor-advised fund. This enables the provision of an application that is complete and in accordance with the required materials. An organization outside America seeking funding should be registered as an organization that is charitable in the respective country of operation and also be in a position to receive funds or grants from overseas. Organizations that fail to comply with the non-discrimination policy of Target Foundation, individuals, religious organizations, as well as political organizations, are non-eligible.

The Safeway Foundation

The Safeway Foundation works closely with the Albertsons Companies Foundation to fund non-profit making organizations that work to strengthen the neighborhood and the community at large. The Safeway Foundation prioritizes organizations that focus on specific areas, which include hunger, health, and human services, youth and education, veterans, as well as support for diversity and inclusion in all abilities. Once applications have been made, the foundation reviews them biannually, mainly in January as well as July. Two weeks after applications have been made, the foundation reviews them and gets back to the applicants.

For an institution to be eligible for this type of grant, Safeway Foundation requires that such institutions have their operations in areas where Safeway Foundation is present. Safeway Foundation finds it essential to release selected opportunities of RFP by making invitations for the priorities they find paramount to select. An organization that seeks funding for the first time from this foundation is given between $2,500 and $10,000. After a rapport or history has been established, the organization can be in a position to ask for a higher grant.

Comparing these three grant sources, Crayola’s grant is the best because it aligns with the program’s goals. The program aims to see to it that the children develop positively to have a bright and better future. The program needs a fund to ensure that the children remain creative and gain the relevant communication skills irrespective of their cultural background. Additionally, Crayola is concerned about the community and focuses on making the community better. This is the same goal of the program, to ensure that every child benefits whether they come from a low-income background or a high-income background. Crayola aims to ensure that the organization that acquires the grant helps the community and welcomes art-infused education. With at-infused education, the children will be fostered to be more creative and innovative, which will help them attain the necessary innovative skills required for further education. The program satisfies all the requirements of Crayola, making this grant efficient and appropriate.
