The leaders should also increasingly use strategies for coaching and bringing the workers closer to them. One of the most relevant motivational models to the article is Herzberg’s Two-Factor theory. The model describes two categories of sources of workers’ motivation. The first consists of factors which, if not available as expected, the workers lose motivation (Ghaffari et al., 2017). An example is a salary. The second category consists of motivators, which, if availed, increase workers’ motivation. Recognition is one of the factors in that category (Ghaffari et al., 2017). Mook’s explanation of the impact of recognition in the article fits that of the Two-Factor theory. When the leaders use strategies such as praise in response to the workers’ efforts, the latter feel that they are valued and thus, put more effort into their work.

In addition, the content of the article relates to the participative leadership theory.
