Organizational Change

Organizational change is a common term that refers to the processes in which organizations experience changes in their operational models, organizational culture, strategies, and structure to influence change within the whole organization. Also, this concept covers the effects that these changes have on the organization (Grimsley & Allison, n.d.). In addition to that, organizational change is key to its prosperity. Stouten, Rousseau, and Cremer (2018) outlined that modern-day organizations often struggle to make sustainable and meaningful changes. On the other hand, there are a variety of studies and resources that lists the best organizational change models. Furthermore, a study by Armenakis and Bedeian (1999) outlined that monitoring organizational change is vital for ensuring its success. The aspects that surround the change have to be managed effectively. This brings forth the concepts of the importance of change management in organizations. Therefore, as much as change is viewed as an important aspect of influencing organizational success, it has to be managed appropriately for its success. In addition to that, successful people management as part of change management in organizations also plays a vital role in influencing organizational success.

Organizations in the modern world face change urgency. However, how organizations handle these changes differ. Jalagat (2016) argues that any changes within organizations may face resistance. It is the role of the leaders, therefore, to ensure that change is initiated in organizational operations successfully regardless of the resistance in the organizations. This concept brings forth the aspect of change management in organizations. Leaders have to ensure that all the issues that lead to change resistance are well solved. Considering the hypothesis established by the study conducted by Jalagat (2016), it is evident that change management plays a vital role in ensuring the change is effectively instilled in organizations. Also, the hypothesis brings forth the need for successful people management when instilling organizational change. On the other hand, change management in organizations follows some specific elements. These elements are responsible for ensuring effective change management.

According to Scheid (n.d.), change management elements are the sectors in which organizational needs can be broken to define the importance of the change in question. Therefore it is evident that the key elements of an effective organizational change include the goal of the change, the team that will be involved in the change, the rules of instilling the change and the future of the organization after the change. Furthermore, Prosci (n.d.) that the elements of change management including readiness assessment, communication planning, sponsor roadmaps, and activities, change management training, resistance management, employee feedback, and corrective actions, after project review and recognizing success as well as reinforcing change. It is therefore well established that organizational change management elements rely on the planning, implementing and reinforcing the change into the organizational system. It is therefore well established that managers have to ensure that they take note of these elements for them to be able to accomplish the goals of any organizational changes. Planning and management of change have to be led by reliable practices by managers within an organization and this includes the different change management elements.
