QUESTION- Identify three major policy issues that affect the current state of health care delivery and population health equity in the United States. What impact do these population health policies and initiatives have on advanced nursing practice?

CLASSMATE RESPONSE –Chizube –  For solving the issue of unemployment that is still a hindrance to quality health care Veteran Sustainable Agriculture Training Program (VSAT) has been created in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture in the United States in a move to generate employment opportunities from agriculture activities. Almost half of the population in the United States depend on taking drug prescriptions for them to survive or even to save lives. Over the years, the federal government has embarked on making changes on different policies concerning issues on costs, a variety of brands and the ease of accessing health care for the patients (NCSL,2018). The new generation of biological medications has been advanced in a manner that it will incorporate illegal reduction misuse of products, adherence to medication, patients education, assistance programs of patients both privately and publicly and creation of reports of the recommended drugs. The results found were that the annual cost of spending on drugs has drastically reduced, costs on therapies reduced.

Thirdly, The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act of 2014 has issued reauthorization of critical goals and different programs to help in strengthening requirements related to health and safety, quality care and enforcement of licenses. Several Acts and Rules have been impacted that focus on having annual monitoring of safety and quality. Minimum health standards have been established in a move to help in recognition of child abuse and neglect that has taken place. Similarly, different allowances have been issued tat align with different conditions and assist in the protection of the child.

Veterans Sustainable Agriculture Training (VSAT) program was established by a Marine sergeant Colin Archipley to pass on agriculture knowledge to veterans, afford healing through farming, and support them in starting their agricultural creativities (National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition 2018). Indeed, this program incorporated with the Department of Agriculture in the U.S generates employment opportunities from the agriculture activities. Consuming drug prescriptions for U.S individuals is vital for them to control chronic disorders, treating short-term conditions, and general well-being and health. Though, the costs of acquiring these prescriptions are costly due to the nation’s healthcare system. That is why federal government has embarked on creating changes on different policies concerning costs of issues to at least make healthcare, in general, accessible to all patients. I agree with your point that through Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 2014 Acts and rules have been put in place to monitor annual safety and quality and erase child abuse. For instance Act such as the 2005 Patient Safety and Quality Improvement (PSQIA) and rules such as knowing how to perform the job and performing it safely important for all individuals.
