week 7 (2) DISCUSSION RESPONSE TO CLASSMATE Response -EBP-DQ 1
Identify the audience for your EBP proposal and discuss strategies for disseminating the proposal.
Classmate response -Re: Topic 7 DQ 1-Esther
The audience for my EBP proposal would include important stakeholders including different skilled nursing home facility with Alzheimer’s patients. In order to be successful as possible, dissemination strategies should be characterized by developing a dissemination plan at an early stage, developing a lay version and using multiple dissemination strategies to reach the patients. The overriding principle to make recommendations accessible for patients and to ensure that they are comprehensible and fit the context is that the dissemination strategy suits the target audience. It is stressed by several authors that this can best be achieved by direct involvement of the target audience patients and their organizations. Assuming that increased levels of research will lead to changes in practice, perhaps based on some poorly-conceived notions of knowledge diffusion, is at best naïve and at worst recklessly wasteful (Lourida, et al, 2017). There is a great need for high quality implementation research to demonstrate how care interventions can be put into practice in a variety of settings not just in the outpatient setting we should and maybe get a better outcome if we can study patient that are in nursing home and evaluate them. Some of the results will also help in future policy and decision making on post diagnostic support and care for patients with dementia and their cares.

I like how you highlight some of the stakeholders that will be involved in your EBP proposal. Further, you bring about excellent points on some of the strategies that should be adopted while disseminating the proposal. Certainly, dissemination is an essential component of the translation of evidence because if the translation is not disseminated, then there cannot be any change with failure in the adoption of innovation (Dudley-Brown, 2019). I agree with you that for the dissemination to be a success, then there needs to be a dissemination strategy that should be characterised by the development of a plan. The dissemination strategy strives to spread the knowledge and the associated evidence-based practice interventions on a broader scale, or it can also be within the geographical location. I understand that during dissemination, it should be comprehensible and fit the context of the dissemination strategy, making it easy for the audience to comprehend the content of the EBP.
Evidence-based practice is a problem-solving approach that can is primarily used in nursing practice. I liked how you mentioned that the adoption of increased levels of research could lead to changes in practice. However, I think more should have been mentioned on the impact of evidence-based practice in the clinical setting and means of implementing the strategies in a clinical setting. While the way that you have captured and articulated the ideas gives a wide view of what will be in the paper, mentioning the various aspects of EBP would have highlighted why it is important to use EBP in the caring environment and how EBP leads to clinical providers exhibiting improved clinical decisions and in overall better patient outcomes.
